Aloha everyone and Happy Monday!

We are blessed everyday to meet and welcome new people into the Hawaiian Fire Ohana. It's an ever growing family and we love when you stay in touch with us. Many of you know that HF started in 1999 with the idea of offering the safest surf lesson in Hawaii through our off duty firefighters. We feel blessed to have accomplished this and so much more (come by the shop and check us out if you haven't!) We have had many families surf with us and keep in touch over time and wow, have we seen you grow through the years!

With that said, we got a very touching email from a family from 9 years ago and wanted to share it! We LOVE to see things like this and also your photos! It's so fun to see some old photos of the early HF days and really want to encourage you to send them our way.

Here's the email from the Sheeks family:
"Hello Team Hawaiian Fire.

In Aug of 2002, my family went to Hawaii for my Make-A-Wish trip. One of the things I really wanted to try was surfing and we ended up getting connected with your surf lessons. We all had a great time and you guys were so amazing! While going through some photos, I found the photo we all took with you guys and I wanted to share it with you and send you an update because you all made our trip so amazing! I got a double lung transplant in 2007 and am doing fantastic. I graduated college this past spring and got into a grad program to become an organ procurement coordinator. I also got engaged on Easter and we are planning to get married in Hawaii next Oct. (This is actually what started the looking through old photos as my fiance has never been there and I wanted to share photos of our trip with him.) We are very excited and happy and I wanted to share with you guys since it has been about 9 years. I really want you to know that our surf lesson with you all was the highlight of my trip and I am so glad that we got set up with your surf school. You were very professional and energetic. Thank you for everything and I am so glad to see you are still doing it! Best wishes to you all:)

P.S. Attached it the photo of my family with the guys who taught us that day. I remember Kevin because my sister and the younger sister of another group that was with us were fawning all over him lol. I am the one in the middle, my little brother is next to me in the front, my mom and sister behind him and my dad to the side. We all had such a great time. Thanks again!"
