From time to time, you may see a blog that highlights one of the HF crew that work so hard to make this all happen every day. If you ever want to more about any of us, check out the "About Us" tab on our webpage and there is a link to all of us :)If you have taken a lesson with us or are planning on it, you will likely meet Hawaiian Fire's very special Sean Kelly. He is out at the beach day after day overseeing the operations to make sure all goes smoothly. If you are interested in food, marathon running, reading, Coors Lights or pretty much any outdoor activity...you have a friend at the beach.
Sean Thomas Kelly was born on October 27th in Richland, Washington which is southeast of Seattle...I was actually born in Washington as well but in Bellevue. Small world. Sean moved to Utah at about 3 years old and grew up there with his...get this...9 brothers and sisters! He is the oldest boy out of the 5 boys!
My guess is growing up with so many siblings is why Sean is so good as his job with HF. If you are a parent that has had their child do a private lesson with us, they were most likely paired with Sean. And if so and you had a good time, we love to hear from you. Post a comment on Facebook or on the blog comment section!
What I think I admire the most about Sean is his endurance and drive to stay in shape. Sean has run the Honolulu Marathon (held annually at the beginning of December) 6 times (check out just 2 of them in our past blogs-2009 and 2010)! But recently, he just went to Utah to compete in the Antelope Island Buffalo Run which was 100 miles!!! You run through the night! Wow...Sean you are awesome!
So there's a little about our good buddy Sean. Book a lesson with us and you will probably meet him out at the beach or maybe driving the van. Mahalo for taking lessons with us, stay in touch with us if you have and if you are a future student....we look forward to meeting you!
And don't forget to pop into the shop on Campbell Ave for some great HF gear. We area always getting new stuff in. I personally have this hat but think Chiyoka is our best model. :)
Aloha
