Hawaiian Fire's Aloha Monday - A Little Loss Made Better With A Little Lexi
By - Ryan Miller
Aloha Monday everybody! It's been a couple weeks and its taken quite a few stitches in the heart since the Chargers untimely

demise but alas we are back and still moving forward here at Hawaiian Fire. Despite the day that shall not be named, 2010 has had quite a few high notes thus far and all of us in the Miller Family as well as the HF Ohana are anxiously awaiting what the new year has in store.
The most exciting news by far has been the arrival of the newest member of the Hawaiian Fire Ohana. That member came in the form of Lexi May Miller born to Mr. and Mrs Kevin and Wisa Miller a little earlier than the expected due date towards the end of the month. This meant that Uncle Ryan unfortunately was en route to San Diego during the birth. Luckily Uncle Brad happened to be in town for a visit and was able to step in and welcome the little one to the
world. It had been quite awhile since Brad was able to get a little Aloha in his life but all of us w
ere stoked to see him and some great times were had. I'll admit that I was a little

jealous that he was able to be
there for the birth and I wasn't but I figured I would have plenty of opportunities ahead to change poopy diapers etc. Besides... somebody had to watch the Charger game right? I knew that the
miracle was happening as I was mid air so I couldn't have been more anxious to get on the ground in San Diego. I was relieved and elated to turn my phone on and see a picture of my new niece happy and healthy. It has almost seemed not real that Kevin and Wisa were going to be parents but to see the little one actually alive and kicking and in the arms of my brother

was a true reality check. I have been an uncle pretty much since I have been able to walk but this time is a little different. I have been in middle school and high school throughout the lives of the rest of my nieces and nephews and now to actually be
(and I use the term loosely) "grown up", it feels much different to have this new family member in my life. My excitement can't be anywhere near that of Kev and Wisa's but I am really looking forward to watching and being a part of Lexi's life in Hawaii and getting her on a surfboard ASAP!

Little Lexi is sure to add to the busy life equation of Kevin, Wisa and Hawaiian Fire but we will no doubt continue rolling forward with a steady pace as we always do out here in the islands. As you have probably noticed I took the focus of th
is blog off the Chargers and rightfully so onto the little bundle of Joy. Although it would have been a great omen for her birth to be coupled with a SD Super Bowl trip that's just how the life of a Charger fan goes and nobody knows that life better than the Miller family. As disappointing as that loss was and despite the onslaught of razzing by all the anti-bolt fans around the world we are just taking this one on the nose and looking forward to the rest of 2010. Lexi I promise I wont hold it against you that they lost and I think that was one of the first things I said to you when I held you! Now that the pain has subsided a bit and the focus can be placed elsewhere there will be many new and exciting things to come and we hope all of you in the HF Ohana will stay tuned for all the new happenings.

The Facebook and Blog updates will keep on coming (without the 2 - 3 week hiatuses) and we hope all of you out there stay in touch. Please keep sending any pictures you have of HF apparel around the world so we can keep adding to the HF World page of our brand new site and if there are any aspiring writers out there that wish to write an Aloha Monday anyone is more than welcomed to contribute. Mahalo for hanging tight while we got over that loss and soon enough you all will be seeing little Lexi ripping it up down at Barber's Point. Aloha everyone and we hope to see as many of you as possible at HF Headquarters and down at the beach!
